The Fragrance of Summer
This year, Hawaiʻi Island has been warmer than usual. Yet in Japan, summer is known for being even hotter and more humid.
For centuries, Japanese cuisine has embraced the season by creating dishes that evoke a sense of coolness and refreshment—not only for the body, but also for the spirit. Delicate flavors, seasonal ingredients, and thoughtful presentation come together to offer a moment of relief from the summer heat.
Inspired by this tradition, we have created our July Omakase to capture the essence of a Japanese summer while celebrating the bounty of Hawaiʻi Island.
We hope you will slow down, savor the season, and create lasting memories with those you cherish at Engawa.
