Islander sake is celebrating its four incredible years with Chef Ryan

Islander sake is celebrating its four incredible years with Chef Ryan

Our sake company’s first opening in Honolulu marks its fourth anniversary this weekend day, March 16, 2024. As we look forward to our fifth year of brewing, we want to take a moment to thank the people in Hawaii who have welcomed us with warm aloha. Serving the Islands and continuing to produce fresh sake is something we are grateful for. As well as meeting new people who happen to be on the same occasion through sake and food.

So we went to a restaurant where our drinks were served in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island. There was a chef who was invited from Princeton, NJ. First, our Junmai Daiginjo Sake was paired with his grilled Pacific oyster and Kona abalone. Chef Michael Ryan’s seared Tuna Toro was superb. And the presentation of Kona Kanpachi in various ways was eye-opening.

We were so lucky to witness that our sake can be matched with various foods, not necessarily Japanese traditional foods.
